CVHS Athletics is launching a new initiative to enhance consistency across all sports by streamlining meetings, communication tools, and shared information. This begins with a unified mandatory Parent Pre-Season Meeting on Thursday, February 26th, at 6:00 PM in the CV Auditorium. After this brief joint session, I will be available after to address any questions not addressed in the AD meeting or our online preseason meeting on Tuesday, February 17th.

We’re also introducing a new standard scheduling tool that enables families, friends, and supporters to easily subscribe to and sync events directly with their calendars. If a match or meet date changes, the updated information will automatically be pushed to your calendar—no manual updates needed!

We have two Instagram pages to showcase the journey of our Girls’ Tennis Team—one for JV and one for Varsity. Follow along and help spread the word to friends and family! We’ll be sharing season highlights, memorable moments, and team updates all season long. Let’s celebrate our players and their hard work together!

2026 Girls Parent Preseason Meeting

Additionally, all parents of Spring sports are required to attend the Athletic Department's Parent Pre-Season Meeting, scheduled for Thursday, February 26th, at 6:00 PM in the CV Auditorium. This kickoff session will last approximately 15–30 minutes, after which we’ll break out into smaller groups to cover season-specific details and address any questions. We expect to wrap up by 7:30 PM.

The season kicks off Monday, February 23rd! Varsity Tryouts begin promptly at 3:15 PM at the CV Courts. ALL players interested in trying out for Varsity must report to the courts at 3:15. ALL returning Varsity players are required to participate in Singles Tryouts.

 Items to complete to participate, other than registration, completed and cleared, paid, and current physical filed and accepted before 2/23/26.The complete Tryout Process can be found in the CV Tennis Player Handbook. For those players who do not want to try out, Coach Matthew will begin practice with you on Monday, February 23rd @ 3:45 @ CV Courts. 

The Player Tennis Handbook MUST be read by you and your parent(s) with the electronic signature page signed as it applies, clarified below, by the beginning of the first day, 2/23, in order to participate. If you do not acknowledge the appropriate contracts by the beginning of the first day, we will not allow you to participate, which may affect your tryout matches.

Uniforms

The new tradition is to have the same uniforms every year, avoiding purchasing new designs every year. You will only need to purchase once, unless you want or require additional items.

This year, we’re launching a brand-new School Spirit Store featuring a fantastic selection of affordable hoodies, hats, and shirts. The store opens on Monday, February 9th, and closes Monday, March 2nd, at noon—so don’t miss your chance to stock up on gear! Orders will be delivered approximately two weeks after the store closes. 

We're moving away from spreadsheet-based schedules.
All player and parent schedules are now managed through calendar invites, sent to the email address used during registration. If an event changes, I’ll update the calendar invitation, and the revised details will be automatically sent to you. You can then forward the invitation to other family members and friends.

While not all spreadsheets have been removed, I am exploring alternative methods to manage this information. As of now, JV will use a spreadsheet to manage their match results while I identify and enable alternative systems.  

Since we are not using spreadsheets to manage the schedule and results, I will ask for one or two parents from JV and Varsity to oversee this and ensure each event has proper coverage for Drinks and Snacks. In general, each match will need a parent to bring Drinks and one parent to bring Snacks. 

For tournaments, one parent per site per day will need to bring Drinks, and one parent per site per day will need to bring Snacks. 

The weather will also play a factor in the Drinks and Snacks. Cold days will require more protein and snacks to help players offset energy spent staying warm, and on hot days, I did laugh, since this is girls' season, and that will require more drinks. We will need more ice on hotter days to keep the drinks cold.
